ABOUT
Habari Productions is a creative storytelling space with a focus on giving back. We're inspired by the world and the people we meet and photograph. We like to travel to far-flung places and have a deep passion for Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Our work has been Nat Geo-shortlisted and has featured in broadcasts and publications around the world.
We are WorldNomads.com Travel Safety Reporters and have filmed with World Nomads in Colombia and Mexico.
We are also travel/production/creative consultants. We have advised the BBC Natural History Unit along with a range of TV channels and production companies.
OUR STORY
We’ve been travelling and taking photos for more than a decade in places including Syria, Iran, Africa, Myanmar, Mongolia, Mexico, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Europe, America, Maldives our homeland Australia, and so many more.
In 2012 we swapped our TV producing world in Sydney for the depths of Africa. We explored West Africa, Ethiopia, Sudan, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania and lived with some of the world's most remote and endangered tribes.
We met families living on the edges of civilisation. We attended ceremonies, rites of passage, religious festivals and traditional dances. There were times when we were literally off the map! Humanity in all its beauty, horror, strength and weakness can be seen in our photographs.
EXHIBITIONS AND BOOKS
Habari Productions' 'Tribe' exhibition was held at Sydney's Queen St Gallery on July 19-31.
We published a hard cover photo book: 'Tribe: Life on the Edge. A story of beauty and survival. It features 224 pages of stunning photos from our TRIBE exhibition. The forward is written by Simon Reeve.
Our work has also been showcased at Two Hands Wines in South Australia's stunning Barossa Valley, along with a pop-up exhibition at X&Co Cafe in Crows Nest.
