Richelle Carey is an Emmy Award-winning American journalist and global news anchor. She’s worked around the world for outlets including Al Jazeera and CNN.
Richelle is also a host and moderator and - most recently - a first-time mum, at age 50.
Like many journalists, Richelle’s career took her to the other side of the world, living abroad and interviewing everyone from presidents to Janet Jackson.
But her desire to be a mum led to her biggest decision: to quit her dream job in the Middle East and head home for the chance to start a family.
After freezing her eggs at 42 and an unsuccessful round of IVF a few years later, Richelle moved back in with her parents in Texas in 2020 and set out on an adoption journey which led her to finally have a child of her own last year - her little boy named Avery. He is absolutely divine.
In our chat we talk about Richelle’s career and her path to motherhood, and the types of pressures women feel that men don't.
